Thank you for interest in presenting your research at the 2020 Historical Association of South Africa Conference proudly hosted by Sol Plaatje University in Kimberley, South Africa.
You have the option of either submitting an individual abstract or a coordinated set of abstracts as part of a panel proposal submission.
All abstracts must be submitted via one of the online forms.
Upon successful submission of your abstract, you will receive an immediate online notice followed by an e-mail confirmation. If you do not receive an e-mail message within 24-hours, your abstract has either not been successfully submitted or the correspondence could have ended up in your spam folder. Individual Abstract Submission
The following information will be required in the online form when you submit an individual abstract:
- Title, Name and Surname
- Email Address
- Name of Institution and/or Affiliation
- Name of Faculty and/or Department
- Postal Address and Postal Code
- City/Town and Country
- Telephone Number
- A short academic biography – completed in the the third-person and not exceeding 100 words. The panel chair will use your biography to introduce you to the audience.
- Paper Title – not exceeding 20 words
- Abstract of between 150 and 300 words
- A list of between 3 and 6 keywords
Panel Abstract Submission
A panel is a coordinated set of papers (usually three and limited to no more than four), all dealing with a particular topic or theme.
The following information will be required in the online form when you submit a panel proposal:
- Name and Surname of Panel Convener
- Convener’s Email Address
- A 150 to 200 word overview explaining the overarching rationale of the panel
- Proposed panel title not exceeding 20 words.
The Panel Convener must ALSO complete the following information on the same form for ALL presenters submitting as part of the panel submission:
- Title, Name and Surname
- Email Address
- Name of Institution and/or Affiliation
- Name of Faculty and/or Department
- Postal Address and Postal Code
- City/Town and Country
- Telephone Number
